Embark on a 7-day immersive journey through the lush landscapes and cultural treasures of Meghalaya, the “Abode of Clouds”. This unforgettable tour takes you from the charming hill station of Shillong to the cascading waterfalls and mysterious caves of Cherrapunjee, the living root bridges of Nongriat and Riwai, and the pristine waters of the Umngot River in Dawki.

Wander through Mawlynnong, Asia’s cleanest village, and experience the spiritual ambiance of the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati.

With scenic drives, short treks, heritage visits, and local cuisine, this Meghalaya tour offers a perfect mix of adventure, serenity, and culture.

Itinerary

Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, our representative will receive you and begin your scenic drive to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya.

En route, stop at the serene Umiam Lake, a picturesque reservoir surrounded by hills. On reaching Shillong, unwind and take a leisurely evening stroll through its charming streets.

After breakfast, set out to explore the highlights of Shillong:

Elephant Falls – a multi-tiered waterfall nestled in lush greenery.
Shillong Peak – for breathtaking panoramic views of the city.
Don Bosco Museum – showcasing Northeast India’s diverse cultures.
Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians – one of the oldest cathedrals in the region.

Later, enjoy a peaceful boat ride at Ward’s Lake and spend your evening exploring the lively Police Bazaar night market.

Overnight stay in Shillong.

After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee (Sohra), one of the wettest places on Earth. En route, halt at the scenic Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint.

In Cherrapunjee, visit:

Nohkalikai Falls – India's tallest plunge waterfall.
Seven Sisters Falls (Nohsngithiang Falls) are famed for their beauty.
Mawsmai and Arwah Caves – explore these natural limestone wonders.
Prut Falls – a relatively lesser-known yet captivating cascade.

Overnight stay in Cherrapunjee.

Today, after breakfast, embark on a memorable trek from Tyrna Village (about a 40-minute drive) to Nongriat, home of the iconic Double Decker Living Root Bridge. This trek involves approximately 3,500 steps one way, leading you deep into a mystical forest setting.

After spending time at the bridge, trek back and return to Cherrapunjee. Overnight stay in Cherrapunjee.

Post breakfast, journey to Mawlynnong, Asia’s cleanest village. Stroll through the village lanes, visit the century-old Church of Epiphany, and take a short hike to the Single Decker Living Root Bridge in Riwai Village.

Later, head to Dawki, near the India-Bangladesh border. Enjoy a peaceful boat ride on the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River, considered one of Asia’s cleanest rivers. Visit the Indo-Bangladesh border viewpoint and explore the local markets.

After breakfast, depart for Jowai, a historical town in the West Jaintia Hills. Along the way, visit:

Phe Phe Falls - a hidden gem with pristine views.
Nartiang Monolith Garden - featuring an impressive collection of megaliths.
Nartiang Durga Temple - one of the 51 revered Shakti Peethas.

Later, continue your journey back to Guwahati via scenic mountain roads.

Overnight stay in Guwahati.

After breakfast, visit the iconic Kamakhya Temple, one of the holiest shrines dedicated to Goddess Shakti.

Time permitting, you may also explore local markets or visit nearby temples. We will then drop you at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey.
