Itinerary

  • Our representative will welcome you at Bagdogra Airport and drive to Bhutan border Town Phuentsholing.
  • Process permits and travel to Thimphu.
  • Stay hotel at Thimphu.

Morning: After having the breakfast, you will go out on a trail.


Visits of the Day:

  • Memorial Chorten: The Memorial Chorten in Thimphu is a revered monument, built in 1974 in memory of the third King of Bhutan, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. It's a prominent religious site where locals gather daily for prayers and rituals.
  • Buddha Statue (Buddha Dordenma): The Buddha Dordenma is a massive bronze statue of Shakyamuni Buddha located atop a hill in Thimphu. It stands over 50 meters tall and houses thousands of smaller Buddha statues within, symbolizing peace and prosperity.
  • Textile Museum: The Textile Museum in Thimphu showcases Bhutan's rich tradition of textile arts. Visitors can explore intricate handwoven fabrics, ancient textile techniques, and the cultural significance of Bhutanese textiles.
  • Tashichho Dzong: Tashichho Dzong is an impressive fortress and monastery located in Thimphu. It serves as the seat of the Bhutanese government and the summer residence of the central monastic body.
  • Simply Bhutan Museum: Simply Bhutan Museum offers an interactive experience of Bhutanese culture, traditions, and lifestyle. It features traditional Bhutanese architecture, arts, crafts, and exhibits that provide insight into the daily life of Bhutanese people.
  • Takin Zoo: The Takin Zoo in Thimphu is a wildlife reserve that houses Bhutan's national animal, the takin. The zoo offers visitors a chance to see this unique creature up close, along with other native species in a natural setting.
  • Craft Bazaar: The Craft Bazaar in Thimphu is a vibrant marketplace where local artisans showcase and sell traditional Bhutanese handicrafts. It's a great place to purchase authentic souvenirs, such as handwoven textiles, pottery, and wooden carvings.
  • Local Park: The Local Park in Thimphu is a peaceful green space where residents and visitors can relax and enjoy nature. It's a popular spot for picnics, leisurely walks, and social gatherings amidst the beautiful Bhutanese landscape.


Overnight: Stay at Thimphu.

Route: Drive via Dochula Pass.


Sightseeing:

  • Dochula Pass: An hour drive from Thimphu will take you to this pass (3140 m) where one can have a superb view of the Eastern Himalayas on a clear day with a powerful binocular telescope. Visit the beautiful 108 chortens.
  • Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility): It is famously known for its fertility shrine, where couples unable to conceive come for blessing.
  • Punakha Dzong: The dzong is situated on a stretch of a land where two rivers – Phochu and Mochu – meet. The dzong was built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in and the first monarch, King Ugyen Wangchuck, was crowned there and it served as the capital of the country until 1955.
  • Visit Botanical Garden and Dochula pass, view the Himalayan Ranges in clear day and fresh air.
  • Suspension Bridge: The Punakha Suspension Bridge is one of Bhutan's longest and most iconic suspension bridges, stretching over the Mo Chhu River. The bridge is adorned with colorful prayer flags and offers stunning views of the surrounding valleys and mountains, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
  • River Rafting: In Punakha water flows very smoothly through river one can enjoy rafting (Extra Cost).


Overnight: Stay at Punakha.

After breakfast, we will explore these places.

  • Ta Dzong (National Museum): Ta Dzong, located in Paro, is an ancient watchtower that has been converted into the National Museum of Bhutan. It houses an impressive collection of Bhutanese art, artifacts, and cultural relics, offering insights into the country's rich history and heritage.
  • Paro Rinpung Dzong: Paro Rinpung Dzong, also known as the "Fortress of the Heap of Jewels," is a majestic fortress-monastery overlooking the Paro Valley. It serves as both a religious center and an administrative hub, and it is renowned for its intricate woodwork and stunning architecture.
  • Airport Viewpoint: The Airport Viewpoint in Paro provides a breathtaking view of the Paro International Airport, one of the world's most challenging airports for pilots. From this vantage point, visitors can watch planes land and take off amidst the dramatic Himalayan landscape.
  • Riverside Walk: The Riverside Walk in Paro offers a serene experience along the banks of the Paro Chhu River. This peaceful trail is ideal for leisurely strolls, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, traditional bridges, and glimpses of local life.


Overnight: Stay at Paro.

After breakfast drive towards Taktsang base from where the hike begins. Taktsang monastery, the monastery is located 900 m above Paro valley on the face of a

rocky cliff. Taktshang is perhaps the most famous monastery in the country. The

monastery was named Taktshang after Guru Rinpoche flew there from Kurtoe Singay Dzong (Eastern Bhutan) riding on a tigress to subdue a demon.


On same day, we will drive back to Phuentsholing.


Overnight: Stay at Phuentsholing.

Morning, your guide and driver will see you off at Bagdogra airport for your onward

destinations.

  • If the customer cancels the booking at least 30 days prior to the trip date, 70% of the booking amount will be refunded.
  • If the customer cancels the booking at least 15 days prior to the trip date, 50% of the booking amount will be refunded.
  • If the customer cancels the booking before it is confirmed, the full amount will be refunded, minus a small cancellation fee.
  • Refunds for third-party services, such as hotels and flights, are subject to the respective provider's cancellation policies. Eligibility and refund amounts are determined by their terms.
  • Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days, though actual timing may vary based on bank procedures.
