Mandatory Documents for Restricted Areas (Tsomgo, Nathula, Lachen, Lachung, etc.):

  • Colour passport-size photo (4 copies).
  • Voter ID / Driving License / Passport (PAN & Aadhaar not accepted).
  • Birth certificate / School photo ID(Children).
  • Original documents must be carried during travel.


Important Notes on Nathula Pass

  • Nathula Pass operates from Tuesday to Sunday (Closed on Mondays).
  • Permit is subject to availability and not guaranteed even after submission.
  • The last 4 km may be shared transport as per the Sikkim Tourism directive.
  • High altitude – not recommended for guests with heart, knee, or blood pressure issues.
  • No refunds if access is denied due to army restrictions or weather, even after permit approval.


Hotel Information

  • Hotels are selected based on service quality, not necessarily views or modern amenities.
  • Many hotels do not have elevators – guests with health issues must notify us in advance.
  • Room heaters are chargeable.
  • Hot water and electricity may be scheduled or limited due to regional constraints.


General Travel Advisory

  • The region is less developed, with limited infrastructure compared to metro cities.
  • Landslides, bad weather, or strikes may cause detours or cancellations without refunds.
  • Sightseeing may close on State/Government Holidays.
  • Travel after 6 PM is discouraged due to hilly terrain and safety concerns.
  • Departure transfers are available only from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM.


Health Precautions

  • Avoid high-altitude sites like Nathula, Gurudongmar, or Zero Point if prone to heart, breathing, or knee issues.
  • Children below 5 years old should not visit high-altitude locations.
  • Early morning starts are mandatory for excursions to avoid afternoon fog and weather hazards.
