The Hidden Waterfalls of Meghalaya

While most know the state of Meghalaya as the region with the wettest climate in India, there is much more to this place. It has an abundance of flora and fauna, natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage that remains unexplored, and are treasure troves for the eager traveler.

Mawsawa Falls are also in Cherrapunji, available to see after a short hike. They are surrounded by a thick forest and have many naturally made sitting areas. This place does not attract much crowd, making it perfect for quiet hikes.

The Thlu Amwi Falls are known for their clear pools and a naturally made stone bridge that has its own local folklore. The waterfall is spread over multiple tiers and is a serene spot for relaxing.

The Mawsadong falls are a terraced waterfall that require a forty-five minute trek to reach, making it perfect for a moderate adventure. Its beauty is emphasized with lush greenery and clean air, and there are some activities such as waterfall rappelling available for thrill-seekers.
