This four-day journey at Rann Riders offers an immersive experience of the Little Rann of Kutch, where vast salt flats, wetlands, and grasslands create a unique habitat for wildlife and migratory birds. Each day reveals a new facet of the region - from thrilling jeep safaris in search of the Asiatic wild ass and soaring raptors to peaceful moments by Nawa Talav, where cranes, storks, and ducks gather in abundance.
Beyond the wilderness, the itinerary connects you to the local culture and communities through visits to nearby villages and traditional craft centres. The experience culminates with a guided nature walk through the woodlands and farmlands surrounding the resort - a gentle, reflective end to days spent discovering the natural and cultural treasures of the Rann.
Arrive at Rann Riders in time for lunch, followed by a short orientation and check-in at the rustic eco-lodge.
In the afternoon, set off on your first jeep safari into the salt flats of the Little Rann of Kutch Sanctuary, a surreal landscape teeming with life. Spot the iconic Asiatic wild ass, graceful antelopes, and an astonishing variety of migratory birds that thrive in this stark, saline desert.
Return to the resort by dusk to unwind and enjoy a hearty dinner under the stars, as the desert cools into calm twilight.
Wake up to the crisp desert air and head out on an early morning safari through a different part of the sanctuary. This region is known for its raptors and predatory birds, soaring against the rising sun. Enjoy a packed breakfast in the wild, surrounded by the silence of the Rann.
Return to Rann Riders for rest and leisure - perhaps spend some time by the lake or in the gardens.
After lunch, head out again for an afternoon excursion to Nawa Talav, a stunning wetland encircled by grasslands and scrub forests. Watch as cranes, storks, ducks, and eagles animate the skies and waters in a breathtaking display of life.
Return at sundown to a warm dinner and relaxed evening at the resort.
This morning, venture once again into the Rann for a mix of safari adventure and guided exploration on foot. Step off the vehicle to wander one of the green islands scattered across the salt flats, discovering smaller desert flora and fauna often missed from the jeep.
After a fulfilling morning, return to Rann Riders for lunch and a bit of downtime. In the afternoon, trade wilderness for culture as you drive to nearby village settlements along the Rann’s edge. Here, explore cottage craft centres where artisans practice traditional embroidery, beadwork, and weaving - each craft telling stories of heritage and identity.
Return by evening for dinner and overnight stay at Rann Riders.
On your final morning, set out on a guided nature walk through the diverse landscapes surrounding Rann Riders - from wetlands and woodlands to farmland ecosystems. This gentle walk offers a closer connection to the smaller details of the region - the calls of birds, textures of the land, and glimpses of rural life.
Return to the resort for breakfast and check out, carrying with you the serenity and wild beauty of the Little Rann.
